On Monday, January 25, 2021, Rabbi Arthur Schneier Park East Day School students participated in the Park East Synagogue and United Nations International Holocaust Remembrance virtual service, marking the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
Yuval (grade 5), Asaf (grade 4), and Nadav (grade 2), along with Sophie (grade 5), Larkin (grade 5), and Danielle (grade 5) participated in this meaningful event, which received extensive media coverage, including a feature on NY1 television and the Associated Press, which ran worldwide, including on Business Insider, HuffPost, The Times of Israel and The Washington Post.
In his remarks, Rabbi Arthur Schneier emphasized the role of Holocaust education in fighting hatred and anti-Semitism and underscored the importance of creating a better world for the next generation, stating, “Children represent continuity, extension of life… eternity. And so we always hope and pray. We want something better: a world of peace, a world of kindness, a world of generosity, for the children, our future.”
