Who we are

We are Rabbi Arthur Schneier Park East Day School, a coeducational Jewish Day School on the Upper East Side of New York City.

Collection of Information

We collect personally identifiable information, such as information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can be reasonably linked to, directly or indirectly, a particular individual or household (“personal information”). We may collect personal information from you on or through your visit to the website or use of the services in a variety of ways, including when you purchase a product or service; sign up for an event, program or make a donation. This information is only used to fulfill your specific request or as otherwise specified herein, unless you give us permission to use it in another manner, such as to add you to one of our mailing lists.

The types of personal information we collect through your use of the website and services includes:

  • Personal identifiers, including your first and last name, birthdate, age, gender, and similar information for members of your family.
  • Contact information, including your email address, phone number, and home address.
  • Biographical information, including your level of education and professional background.
  • Financial information, including your credit card number and purchasing history through the website.

We might collect information that might not reasonably identify you or a household personally, but is linked to your computer or device (“device identifiable information”). We might collect device identifiable information from you in the normal course of providing the Services. When you visit our website to browse, read, or download information, we might collect information about your computer that your browser sends, such as your IP address, browser type and language, access times, pages visited, and referring website addresses. We might use device identifiable information to analyze trends, help administer services, learn about and determine how much time visitors spend on each page of the website, learn how visitors navigate the website or use the services, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. We might also collect your location information, such as your zip code or the approximate geographic area provided by your internet service provider (“ISP”) or location positioning information provided by the location services and GPS features of your mobile device when location services have been enabled. 

We provide links to Parent and Faculty portals. When visiting those portals, your information is handled according to those sites’ privacy policies.

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Who we share your data with

We share your information with authorized service providers involved in operating our services. For example, we use Authorize.net to process payments for products and services. You can read more about how Authorize.net uses your personal information on Authorize.net’s site. Our authorized service providers also include email service providers, and analytics companies.

We might also share information with government agencies or other companies assisting us in fraud prevention or investigation. We may do so when: (1) permitted or required by law; (2) trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions; or (3) investigating fraud that has already taken place. The information is not provided to these companies for marketing purposes.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

All data is retained indefinitely unless we receive a request to remove it. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

All emails and newsletters from this site allow you to opt out of further mailings.

Commitment to Data Security

We use reasonable security efforts to keep the personal information in our possession secure. Only authorized employees, agents, and contractors (who have agreed to take reasonable steps to keep information secure and confidential) are provided access by us to this information. However, no method of transmission or storage of data is 100 percent secure, and we will not be responsible for any damage that results from a security breach of data or the unauthorized access to or use of information, whether personal information or device identifiable information.

California Users

Users from California have the right to request information about the categories and sources of personal information collected about you and the associated purposes for collection and third-party disclosures; request a copy of your personal information; request deletion of your personal information; and opt out of the sale of your personal information. We currently do not sell personal information and have no intention of doing so in the future.
