Leon Skornicki is a dedicated father to Henrique (2nd grade) and Emil (Kindergarten), and a proud husband to Dr. Joanna Loewenstein, M.D. He was raised in Caracas, Venezuela, where he attended a Jewish school and grew up in a family deeply rooted in the local Jewish community. Three of his grandparents are Holocaust survivors from Poland, while his fourth grandparent hails from a Spanish-Moroccan background.
Leon’s great-grandfather, Leon Weisenfeld, served as the president of the Ashkenazi Jewish Community of Venezuela, notably during Rabbi Pynchas Brenner’s tenure. Leon is a Princeton University graduate and holds a law degree from Georgetown University. He spent eight years in major law firms, specializing in high-stakes disputes between states and foreign investors, with cases involving over $3 billion in claims.
Currently, Leon works as a products lawyer at Visa Inc., where he has spent the past seven years advising teams on the future of digital payments. He is also actively involved in his community, serving on the board of his Upper East Side condominium and as an officer of his Princeton class.
