Rabbi Arthur Schneier, Dean of Rabbi Arthur Schneier Park East Day School, and Audrey Feuerstein, Chair of the School’s Board of Education, announced today that Mimi Samter has been appointed Director of Guidance, effective July 15, 2021.
In her new role, Ms. Samter will oversee the development, coordination and implementation of plans to identify and resolve any issues that impede student learning. She will serve as an advocate for our students and their families, liaise with parents, teachers, school staff, and outside professionals, provide individual and group counseling, and be on call for any issues that arise. Ms. Samter is a licensed master social worker with more than 16 years of experience in school social work. She has served as Director of Guidance and Student Services at Torah Academy for Girls in Far Rockaway and as a school social worker at several Jewish day schools, most recently at IVDU (Yachad) High School for Girls in Brooklyn. Ms. Samter received her Master of Social Work degree from Hunter College, Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Associate of Arts degree in Judaic Studies from the Stern College for Women at Yeshiva University.
