A Global Perspective

Park East benefits from Rabbi Schneier’s profound conviction that students should have an avid awareness of the wider world. Wherever the Rabbi goes, whomever he meets with, become an opportunity to introduce new and exciting points of view to the whole Park East student body. High-profile guests have included two Secretaries General of the U.N., the Chief Rabbi of Rome, the Chief Rabbi of Israel… even Bono.

In 2008, Rabbi Schneier was host to Pope Benedict XVI, the first ever Papal visit to a synagogue in the U.S. In 2009, he welcomed the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I. It is one of our deepest beliefs at Park East that children should learn how to listen to, and confidently participate in, an unbridled exchange of ideas.
