We delight in presenting a rotating brief profile of a different member of the Park East community.
Why Park East?
I felt an immediate connection with the school’s mission and values. My philosophy is to be present for each child and to support them in being the best they can be. Each person I have met at Park East demonstrates a true passion for what they do, which is inspiring.
Park East celebrates Jewish identity and tradition “from generation to generation.” What’s the most important lesson you learned from your parents or grandparents?
My grandparents had a quiet strength to them; they fled Germany for Shanghai as refugees during the Holocaust and instilled in me a belief to never give up. They also emphasized the importance of having an open and warm home and an understanding that each member of a community is valuable.
My parents taught me to be grateful for everything and everyone, and taught their warmth and openness to me by example. Being a part of a community, of something bigger than ourselves, has always been important to us.
What was your favorite subject in school?
I loved History and English. I have always been the most excited about subjects related to the humanities.
What’s your favorite inspirational quote?
“Think good, and it will be good.”
– Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson
What’s your hidden talent?
I’m a trained yoga teacher and Theta energy healer.
